Richard C. Cover, Jr.
1/23/38 - 7/26/03

also lovingly known as Cryptic Dom

Cryptic Dom passed away quietly and unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his home. Richard's wishes were to have no public services. He was cremated over the weekend, of August 9th, 2003. His ashes -- and his spirit -- were joined with the truest love of his life: his wife who had passed away several years prior.

A day without your mate, is like a day without life.

"Others see the light in me when I am blind to it's brightness."

Cryptic Legacies

How does one man affect so many others?

By quietly being himself and by demonstrating the art of "self-hood" in simple ways.

So few role models are able to manifest a sense of style and consistency over time; especially without having to bow to the pressures of 'the norm police' or to the fashions of the day.

To be an individual within a larger family of often conflicting expectations, Cryptic Dom offered a sense of stability.

His capacity to listen without rash or ill-timed advice must have come from his roots in the timeless energy of the old mountains.

Having this sense of timelessness and unhurried accessibility created a place where his acquaintances could find the intimacy so lacking in the majority of our relationships. His ability to make and keep relationships from many diverse backgrounds; is a fitting tribute in itself.

We all have dreams and desires.
We all have the need to transcend.
Some seek it without caution, in abandon...
He found it by being himself to the end.

Respectfully,
Voices in the Dark

Almost Touch

The swell of inertia overwhelming;
the kiss of a promise unfelt...
When the light of a hope so abundant
passes on without reason or sense.
Fate and destiny ever twisted;
teasing and yet calling again.
Don't fear what you never had captured
for it will come to your heart in the end.
Almost touch lingers long in our psyche.
Completion; just a concept some say.
Never close your sweet eyes
the warm whispers in your sighs...
Once found in hope, have faith;
we'll meet again in some way.
